About
Company
Digital Certainty launched in 2008, with a 3-pronged mission. First, to evaluate technologies already under development within US federal research programs and identify those that could be applied to address critical cyber security and forensics needs for companies, government and individuals. Second, to assemble capital and expertise to extract those technologies from the research lab, hone them based on end-user insights and quickly transform them into field-ready products. Third, to establish distribution partnerships that generate awareness of these new products and make them readily available to commercial customers.
A key source of technologies, as well as technological support for Digital Certainty is its partner firm, Assured Information Security (AIS). AIS was founded in 2001 and was the first private research firm to operate the Adversarial Science Laboratory within the Air Force Research Laboratory - Information Warfare Branch. Through the years AIS has secured highly advanced projects and numerous new federal government clients, enabling the creation of a best-in-field team of cyber security and operations experts. Core areas of expertise have been honed, including a practice focused on cyber forensics and investigative technologies. AIS was named #299 and #486 on the Inc 500 Fastest Growing Companies Lists for 2007 and 2008 respectively.
By mid-2009 Digital Certainty had identified and completed the transition of its first technology from the research benches of AIS and the Air Force Research Laboratory into a flagship commercial product. The Wi-Fi Investigator enables users to physically locate active Wi-Fi devices. This patent-pending tool is now in commercial rollout, offering a game-changing capability to law enforcement and private security professionals who have been at a disadvantage in fighting wireless intrusion and criminal activity.
